ABOUT MS. MANAGED

Hey Everybody!

Welcome to Ms. Managed!  Ms. Managed was put together as an outlet for Kaitlin (and her group of smarter, wittier friends and family)  to share with the world  the growing pains of alleged adulthood.  Did you suddenly start gaining weight after turning 26 and it won’t come off after your usual work out plan of doing nothing?  Did you realize that your dream of Olympic gold may have sailed since you are ten years older than the average competitor and sit at a desk 50 hours a week?  Do you have kids, and they expect you to keep them alive every single day? Yeah.  Us too.  And it is weird.   Ms. Managed is about KK & Co’s journey.  It’s a place where  smart chicks (and guys) can come together to laugh, discuss, and motivate (or commiserate) about health, fitness, life, home projects, love, work, mindless entertainment, and the occasional current events, all while trying to become better versions of ourselves. Or die trying.  Or try a little and then have a nap.  Whatever.

Hi! I’m Kaitlin,  the mastermind behind Ms. Managed. In real life, I’m an attorney  turned SAHM in the NY metro area, where I live with my husband B, our son, and America’s sweetheart, Major the Lab/Shar Pei mix.  I created Ms. Managed to share the ups and downs of my late twenties now thirties, partly mostly to keep myself accountable and motivated to make some positive changes in my life.  If it encourages and entertains, well that’s just lovely.

I originally started this blog when after law school, I gained 30+ 40 pounds that I could not shake.  My relationship with diet and exercise had been on and off.  I lost 30 for my wedding, gained it all back and then some. You can learn all about that here. I am trying to be serious about my health for my family and me, but I’m also trying to live my best life where I’m not depriving myself of experiences. So far I am down over 50 pounds, but I need to keep going.   I also need to get serious about parenting my kid, making our house a home, my future, and ya know, learn to not let the dishes sit in the sink for two weeks.  I have a lot of work to do.

This is the same dress, 30 lbs later. Yuck.

My goal is to keep this blog light and fun so you and I can stay motivated in our goal of becoming better, more awesome members of society.  Sometimes though, I am going to be a Debbie Downer.  Sometimes, I might want to talk about something serious.  Sometimes, I may just want to talk about how much I love Game of Thrones.  I hope you enjoy and hang around.

Disclaimer time! Though I am not practicing currently, I am in fact an attorney in real life in some places, this is not real life and nothing here should ever be taken as legal advice.  Legal advice would probably be a stretch since I will almost never write about laws, but still.

AnonyMISS Managed

Occasionally, you may see posts from our anonymous posters, AnonyMISS.  AnonyMISS is actually not one singular contributor, but rather the name used at Ms. Managed if we are talking about a taboo or a more private subject.  The writer may be a regular reader, friend, contributor here, a guest, or a combination.  Sometimes, it isn’t even a miss, but rather a MISTER. :::gasp:::  While I always encourage readers to comment and share, please respect that stories told by AnonyMISS are not blind items for guessing, but rather intended to discuss important subjects amongst our community.  I also invite our readers seeking to get advice or just share a situation happening in their lives with us at msmanagedblog.anonymiss@gmail.com.  Don’t worry, we will always change details to protect your privacy.

Okay! I love you! Buh-Bye!

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and amusing, and without a
doubt, you have hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something that too few folks are speaking
intelligently about. I’m very happy I found this in my hunt for something relating to this.

  2. So I must say life is quite amusing at times and the synchronicities that pop up can be pretty cool. I am also a Kaitlin. Yes, we are amazing 🙂 I have been in a rut lately, with everything it seems. I will be 26 in a week and I’m finding myself saying “Omg, what have I done with myself? Where Is my life going?” So I thought about starting a blog, as an outlet mainly; a form of therapy perhaps. Anyway, I was playing around with possible pen names, and I was googling “Miss Managed” to see how many other clever young ladies had the same idea, and here I am now looking at your blog. It is very similar to what I was thinking of starting! This was too coincidental for me to not leave you a post! Also I had to tell you that your dog is absolutely adorable!
Good luck to you, it looks like your site is off to a great start.
